  1. Oh no, right when you think things couldn't have gone worse! In Italy, we have a saying "from the frying pan to the grill" meaning "from bad to worse." Glad your carpeted stairs were able to cushion your fall. I hope you recover quickly. That's so awesome your husband is helping out so much! And that Esther is showing all this improvement (both health-wise and behavior-wise). I am not surprised Gertie used her words when clumsy Esther sat on her while she was sleeping. If this happened to one of my Rotties, they would have responded with a sharp snark, as if saying "what the **ck!" TV training sounds like good progress. She sounds less over threshold so more capable of attending to your cues. The less she rehearses, the better. The more she watches the TV without barking, even better! As long and you and your husband are on the same page as to consistency and training cues, she should understand what is expected of her and she can relax knowing that there are no shades of gray (inconsistencies). P.S. I had to Google "bullnose", I never heard of that term before!
