ahmee.bronaugh Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 I would love suggestions for training in a multi-dog home. I currently have two 2 1/2 year old dogs and a 7 month old puppy. Putting the dogs off into a different room causes two of them to whine and scratch at the door. And with my puppy, he HAS to be in the middle of everything. Is training them together fisable?
JMFS Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 Hi Ahmee - quick question. When you put the dogs in a separate room do you also give them something to keep them busy, like a peanut butter stuffed Kong? Or take them for a walk first, or exercise them? There have been a couple posts about training more than one dog. They're difficult to find because the keywords are common words (dogs, two, multiple). I did manage to find one of them here: https://www.braintraining4dogs.com/forum/showthread.php?138-Working-with-more-than-one-dog&highlight=training+dogs Ooh, found another: https://www.braintraining4dogs.com/forum/showthread.php?86-Double-dog-training&highlight=training+dogs Those might be helpful in getting you started.
