LawrenceHamblin Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Are there standardized hand signals for dog training and where can they be found?
Adrienne Farricelli Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Hello Lawrence, Welcome to the forums. There are several hand signals that can be used for training dogs although there are no official, formally used hand signals used across the board. For example, for a down you can use a lowered open hand or a finger pointing to the floor. For a sit, you can make an upward motion of the hand. For stay, you can hold your hand open palm facing the dog. Most of these hand signals are seen in the training sections of the course. If you want to stick to hand signals, simply skip the instructions/steps on replacing them with verbal cues.
