Bringing home new pup, should I start crating dog #1 again?

We are bringing home a second pup soon and he will be crate trained.  We crate trained our first dog and she now has full reign of the house as she has proven herself.  As we start crate training the new puppy should we crate the other dog At the same time as an example?  Or should dog #1 be allowed the house while the pup is crated?

This is a good question. 

I think we need to consider several things in order to make a good decision here. For example, is your current dogs still crated at times? Or is she always free around the house? And if she is crate trained, how often and when? Also, how old is she? This info will be helpful, so that we can do what's in the best interest of both dogs.
