Training very small dogs

I am new to this forum and method of training. I have two small female rescue Chihuahuas that are sweet and loving. I would like to refine their training to follow some simple commands. Has this program worked well for those of you with very small dogs? Anyone have advice based on experience that you would like to share? 
I have always been a big dog person but find myself loving these spunky stubborn littles. I have found I do need a different approach with them. Thank you ahead of time for your input!

Welcome to the forums,

I am sure with a search on the forums, you'll find several owners of small dogs posting here. In most cases, luring works well with small dogs, although occasionally, we may stumble on some small dogs (or even medium to large dogs) who may need a different approach either due to conformation, handler difficulties or some underlying doggy emotional problems. 

Since you mention "I have found I need a different approach" I am assuming you might be struggling with an exercise? If so, feel free to post it here and I'll be happy to help out!
