Once a week peeing in house???

for over three months my perfectly Housetrained three-year-old rescue has started peeing in the house every 4 to 5 or five days. We have a doggie door so he has free access to the outside. I am perplexed about this behavior and have no idea even where to begin because I don’t know why he’s doing this. Please helpPlease help

Every time a dog is perfectly house trained and starts having accidents in the house, it's important investigating what may be going on. One important place to start is making sure the dog is not having any underlying medical problems. Therefore a vet visit can help exclude or rule out this possibility. Once we have an all clear from the vet, and no medical issues as play,  we can then assume that something from a behavioral point may be taking place.

I would also add the possibility of the doggy door accidentally closing on him or getting stuck or something scary happening in the yard. 

Also, is he actually urinating for the purpose of emptying the bowel or is he urine marking? Is he neutered?

Where is he peeing exactly every time? Does he do it when left alone? 

After reading through these possibilities, let me know if any of these circumstances sound familiar and we can do more troubleshooting and find out what may be the best course of action.
