Puppy just started barking at everything outside

My 4 month old puppy has just started barking at everyone when we are outside. I have only had her for 2weeks and she has just started this now. She is a small puppy. I don’t want her to behave like this but not sure how to tackle it. I tried your brain training idea to give her a treat when we see a stranger but it’s been very difficult to find the right timing between her actually seeing them and barking. Any advice. Should I try the smacking sound method?

When you are outside, do you mean in a yard?

If it's your yard, is it fenced?

Is she leashed when taken out?
