Hi again, and thanks for your earlier quick response. I imagine you stay quite busy with us folks finding our way in the canine kingdom😊 I had asked for tips on getting Shiloh to accept his leash without nipping and biting when I try to put it on.I read another post with a similar issue but with Shiloh I don't think he has a problem with being touched on his neck area as he allows me to pet him and touch him all over. He even rolls into his back if I say "belly rub". BUT if he sees his leash(he got a collar AR 6wks at tolerates it fine) be wants to grab it and not let go, and if I do get it attached its the same. He will b or it in his mouth and run back and forth in front of me we don't get far. Now. Is it imperative that a dog walk behind you and can they be safely handled if walking in front? Shiloh will be a large dog and growing so fast. He also wants to sit on my feet and lean into my shins chewing on my shoes if I walk near him. This pup has a great disposition and is quite chilled out and loves being petted after a long play session.(yep tried the leash when he was calmer) no go. I really want to do right by him but he's caused me to fall once and luckily I didn't land on him or break anything( I generally do). I'm ready and willing to try whatever is necessary to get a little progress made. Thanks again for all your support.

Thanks again for the info and will put it into practice today, lots of indoor since its raining. I noticed a question regarding the "target" exercise and will say this regarding what a its good for in addition to the stated info. I worked with Shiloh this morning on it. His second time. He's had a bad habit of snapping at my hand and wanting to play tug of war with it(he's better though) and the target exercise helped. Once he got passed the Mr snapping turtle phase and realised he wouldn't get a treat like that he settled in and repeated the exercise right on cue. Its so nice to see such benefit from such a simple exercise. I will continue to use it and integrate it with his other training. When he gets his leash down pat, we are going to the lake. Oh just a note I saw a suggestion somewhere about swapping the leash to a chain one to prevent chewing. Gotta say my little guy is determined! I think his teeth are bothering him did the cold rag as well as ice cubes which he loved! Thanks for all the support! I admit I was skeptical about that but you consistently come through!

Also and so sorry for all the questions, but Shiloh has been great at looking me since he came to me at six weeks. He will actually sit at my feet look into my eyes for long periods last count I got to 15. When he does come to me he will sit right in front of me and look up. When he's not jumping or eating his leash he will work his way around to my front and do the same. How do I build on this so that its meaningful. He nailed the airplane game, he started by looming at the treat then with my "smacking" turned his eyes to me, consistently. I think he knows he's too smart for me and is dying to stay one step ahead. He won't even consider cooperating with his leash unless he's in front and He's going to be a large dog so can't have him pulling. If it weren't for that I'd let him lead.. Worry for the diatribe I !I've my little guy and He's quite happy curled at my feet after playtime such good company.

Got a couple of questions. One for a ten week old pup how many sessions and how long for each do I need to do? Also the sequence in the Obedience training. Can I concentrate on the leash, heel and attention heel first?(He already knew sit and down before I got the course) he's working on stay and doing fair but I think its going to take extra on the leash and healing. I realize he's still very young but he's a trip hazard and I don't want him or me to get hurt. He's quite stubborn. Does not like the leash and will pull or sit or lie down when trying to walk. Using the treats makes him want to jump for them rather than follow. Need help if I can't get him leash trained and obedient I won't be able to keep him and I absolutely DONT want that. I'm very been using redirection with my sheprador pup for the biting and it's helped to some extent when connecting his leash however he bites and draws blood.. Same thing when I disconnect it. He seems to think my hands near his face gives him permission to use them as a chew toy. Lots of work ahead for this little guy😊

Thanks for all the info I will certainly put it into practice. I live in the country and Shiloh will have 15 acres to have fun in😊 He has "fair" days on leash when he does better, but this morning we were working on holding The treats so he could see them, and I had to make him sit when He started jumping for them. Then he walked well for a minute and decided that was enough he laid down chewed grass and wouldn't move period. Just a side note I haven't done the "look in my eyes" yet as he will sit and look directly at me for long periods without prompting. Also off leash he will play and come back and immediately sit in front of me and look at me as if awaiting for a command. Would it be possible to train him off leash first without too much confusion? **we won't be going to parks or highly populated areas, just fishing at the lake and visiting family Thanks!!!

He is ten weeks old and will do sit and down no problem. He needs work on stay and recall, I want to train him on leash before he gets too big for me to handle. We will do this outside as he will be an outside dog. I plan to take him with me often on outings and he hates his leash he does fair when connecting it but bites and gets aggressive when I disconnect it, I will be working with him alone as I live alone and want a well behaved companion. Need to address this issue asap thanks!
