  1. I also have a dog guilty of this nipping behavior. It is a five and a half month old male german shepherd. He is a VERY loving, wonderful pet, EXCEPT when he gets "spun up" which happens when he doesn't get his way. This time, I told him "leave it" while he was digging in the lawn. Usually we will redirect him to a sandpit I made for him. Felicia, I read your advice above and know that the best solution is to mitigate it before it starts which is a work in progress. Good news is his bite inhibition is excellent. I need him to stop this though since I suspect it would be terrifying to uninitiated visitors! My ask is if you have time to watch this very short vid, you may have some insights into what I might do differently once we are already too late/over threshold.
