Adrienne Farricelli Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Hi Alice, This is an ultimate goal in potty training and overall training to keep the dog on task and not get distracted by things in the yard. However, I still recommend looking through a window or at a distance to ensure the dog goes and is "empty" and checking the dog's stools here and there to ensure everything is OK in the health department. Whether this is doable at this time or not may vary based on several factors. One big factor is age, how old is your dog? Is he or she fully potty trained yet? Does your dog know how to go potty on command? Is going potty the first thing your dog does when sent outside? Is your yard fully fenced?
