LISA NIELSON Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Merry Christmas 🎄, Happy Holidays. I have a 10 week old GSD puppy, she can already sit on command and her down command is coming along nicely. She is very food driven but her attention span is about 8 minutes long for most outdoor training sessions. How many times per day  would you recommend for training at this age?
Adrienne Farricelli Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Hi there, Welcome to the forums! How exciting! Your puppy is very young so would do for now about 5 minutes at a time max, but of course, every dog is different, so you'll need to learn more about him and see how he does. Also, it varies on the task being trained, some need more brain juice than others. Young puppies do best with short training sessions, so I like to do about 5 minute sessions scattered throughout the day rather than risk with a longer session that the pup may perceive as too long or tedious. Always make training fun and upbeat and end it on a positive note! Happy holidays to you too! Post pictures when you can! Happy training, Best, AdrienneÂ
