Congrats on opening your heart and home to a new dog.

Is this dog still intact or is he now neutered (castrated, altered)?

Is he having pee or poop accidents or both?

Are you dealing with urine marking more than actual accidents in the home? In urine marking we see a lot of raising the leg often and leaving little traces of pee on vertical objects versus leaving larger puddles of pee. 

Are you planning to train him to go potty outside?
