JERILYN ANDERS Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 My 1 year old Pyrenees and I have been in preschool for the past week. We had horrific winds last evening where the cover to the electric panel was wildly slamming the house. My pup was very afraid and tried to hide and even more so upset when I left the house to fix the problem. Upon my return, he ran to me, sat immediately in front of me, and gazed steadily into my eyes. I had to share this story. I believe the two of us have started to open the lines of communication with each other.

Since he ran to you and first thing he did was sitting in front of you looking into your eyes, it seems like he has established you as his "secure base" and therefore felt secure and trusting in your presence.
