English Shepard and herding us

Our 20 month old English Shepard keeps trying to herd us when we are with the cattle.  She's on a leash and when we try and move the cattle she nips or bites us.

It's great that you have an English shepherd on a farm and on top of that, with the opportunity to herd cattle! To better understand the situation, I have a few questions:

1) How long have you had her?

2) Is this the first time your English shepherd has been sent out with the cattle? If not, how long has your dog been behaving this way?

3) Is there a reason why she is on leash? Not trained? Fear of scaring/hurting the cattle? 

4) Is your goal having her herd the cattle?

5) Has she received any training at all?

6) What are you doing exactly when she nips you? Using hand gestures, voice, whistling to move the cattle?

7) What have you done so far when she nips/bites?

8 Is she used to wearing a leash/collar? 

9) what type of collar is she wearing?

10) how is her bite inhibition? Does she break skin? leave marks? 

There are chances she may be frustrated with not being able to herd the cattle and redirects on you, but your further details can help provide a clearer picture.
